POP & IMAP Settings for Hosted Exchange 2016

This article will guide you through the process of configuring your Outlook client to connect to the Exchange 2016 server via IMAP or POP3. We recommend using IMAP, as opposed to POP3, as an improperly configured POP3 client can remove mail from the server, leaving you with no copy of your mail should your computer fail.

To connect to the Hosted Exchange 2016 server using IMAP:

a) Create a new profile by closing Outlook and opening ‘Mail’ in the control panel.

b) Click “Show profiles”

c) Click “Add”

d) Give profile a name

e) Select the “manually configure server settings” box

f) Select “internet mail” (Pop3,Imap, Http)

Both Incoming and Outgoing mail server is exchange.emailservice.io

User name is entire email address.

Click “More settings”. On the More settings page go to the “Outgoing Server” tab.

Select “My outgoing server(SMTP) requires authentication”, Select “Use same settings as incoming mail server.”

Go to the advanced tab.

Incoming server (Imap) select SSL from the drop down menu and make sure the incoming port changes to 993 and change the outbound port to 587. Change the "Use the following type of encrypted connection:" to TLS. Click OK.

Click “Test account settings” to make sure everything is correct. Then click “Next” and “Finish”.
